Our Story

Community Counselling was born out of a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves access to compassionate, professional mental health support — regardless of their background, income, or life circumstances.

We began with a small group of committed professionals who saw the growing need for accessible, local counselling services. People in our community were struggling — with stress, grief, trauma, relationships, and everyday pressures — but often faced long waiting lists or simply couldn’t afford private therapy.

So we set out to change that.

Our mission is to provide a welcoming, safe, and confidential space for people to talk, be heard, and find the support they need. We’ve built a team of qualified counsellors who bring warmth, empathy, and expertise to every session — and who are passionate about helping others grow and heal.

Over the years, we’ve supported individuals from all walks of life, through all kinds of challenges. Whether it's short-term support or a longer journey, we walk alongside each person with respect and care.

This isn’t just counselling. It’s connection . It’s a place where you can take a breath, feel understood, and begin to move forward — one step at a time.

We’re here when you’re ready.

I offer a warm, friendly, non-judgmental, safe space where we can work through
whatever is troubling you. In our sessions we can explore your thoughts, feelings,
emotions, and behaviours, so you can better understand yourself and your situation, and find ways to overcome problems.

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, which means I use different approaches which I tailor, so I can respond to what is right for you.

I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I draw on a variety of counselling approaches to suit each client and the issues that they bring.  The basis of my practice is person-centred and existential, but I also work creatively to help clients understand their relationships and express their emotions in a non-judgemental space.  I also use CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) techniques where appropriate, to help clients change troubling behaviours, such as OCD.

My practice is based on a humanistic approach and depending on your specific needs, together, we can explore a range of ways to help you to make sense of whatever it is that you are facing and navigate change.

I can offer both short term directive support such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or long-term support using more creative approaches such as Gestalt Therapy.  Whatever you needs I will be guided by you to ensure that we find the best approach for you.

I'm a warm and friendly counsellor who is focused on you. Whatever life looks like for you now,  I believe talking can help. During sessions with me, we would aim to build a relationship where you feel comfortable enough to explore everything you need to, at a pace that suits you.

If talking isn't quite enough I have a wealth of creative or practical based tools we can use to help you understand what's going on and empower you to find a solution. These can be really helpful for times when you might be feeling lost or 'stuck' or simply just not sure what to say. I'm always willing to adapt to my client's needs and will suggest things that might help, so you don't feel alone in those 'stuck' times.

My approach to counselling puts you in the driving seat, as you are the person who knows you the best. My aim is to provide both support and challenge to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and your view of the world. As a Gestalt therapist, I also use creative ways of working to enhance your therapeutic experience, such as visualisation and object work. However, this is not a compulsory part of working with me.
